In a small rural village, Brian, age 13, grew up in a family where no one had ever completed primary school. Many children dropped out early to work in the fields, and Brian seemed destined for the same fate.
But everything changed when his village became part of the Future Africa Initiative’s Education Support Program. Brian received books, uniforms, and mentorship from local volunteers who encouraged him to stay in school. Despite many challenges, he worked hard and proudly graduated from primary school this year — the first in his family to reach this milestone.
Now, Brian is determined to continue into secondary school. His younger siblings look up to him as a role model, and his parents say his achievement has inspired the entire community.
“I want to be a teacher so that I can help other children in my village succeed,” Brian said with determination.
